Embedded Biomedical Hardware & Sensor Systems
Custom acquisition hardware where off-the-shelf instrumentation runs out.
Scroll
We design the acquisition layer ourselves when commercial instruments cannot meet the requirements. That means custom sensor interfaces, front-end instrumentation, microfluidics for sample handling, and the firmware that makes the whole assembly behave as one instrument.
Capabilities
What this track actually involves
01Biosensing front-ends and analog instrumentation design
02Microfluidic sample handling and assay integration
03Custom firmware and real-time embedded systems
04Low-noise analog and mixed-signal board design
05EMC, thermal and mechanical design for lab and bedside use
Open Questions
What we are still trying to answer
?
Which physiological interfaces are genuinely bespoke, and which are over-engineering?
?
How do we make a prototype reproducible six months after the bench is cleared?
?
What is the smallest trustworthy instrument we can build for a single measurement?
What Would Help
Where a collaborator changes the outcome
Fabrication and assembly capacity beyond prototyping volume
Access to specialised lab equipment for characterisation
Embedded engineers for firmware and real-time constraints
